In the last years technology has advanced in giant steps”…this is not a new thing but today it seems to be a reality for everybody. Open source is now an open door that will come into all houses, exponentially speeding up creativity and development possibilities.

Next, a short introduction that will analyse the key moments in the last ten years of technology and creative development in the field of interaction and new media, and end with the performance and interview of one of the most interesting artistic collectives in the last few years: Multitouch Barcelona.

interaction is a kind of action that occurs as two or more objects have an effect upon one another. The idea of a two-way effect is essential in the concept of interaction. (Wikipedia)

…When we add to this simple principle, the passion for the code, creativity and the natural human aspects for fun-born Multitouch Barcelona. The collective born just one year ago was able to quickly enhance his international recognition thanks to his experimental, fresh and funny video installations.

Multitouch was founded by four young designers, based in (X), who work across interaction and New Media, and develop platforms linked to entertainment, play and experiment, by constantly exploring the communication between people and technology.

‘cardboard cloud’ by fantastic norway architects

fantastic norway architects created the ‘cardboard cloud’ installation for an
exhibition at the centre for design and architecture (DogA) in oslo, norway.
the show will feature work by norwegian students.

being that the exhibition is set to present brand new design objects, they decided
to base the architectural concept on the thrill of unpacking. the installation consists
of over 3000 hanging cardboard boxes resembling a large pixilated cloud, hovering
over the various objects. the construction creates a large variety of spaces, from cave
like to lifted and open areas, inside the 350m2 exhibition hall. the objects and design
concepts are displayed both inside and outside the boxes.

Issey Miyake’s designs for the his 2010 line really blew me away. Simple, pleated garments rolled, folded, and styled into sushi and sashimi. I guess im a sucker for minimalism and Asian cuisine. Make sure you give this a look. Here.

Travel photography

Came across this site and i just had to share it with the world. Ill quote the creator for the concept behind it but just take the time out to enjoy this one.

This is travel photography — of places I’ve never been; secret places.

I’ve not been to Paris, but I know what the Eiffel tower looks like. I’ve seen it from multiple angles, and I’ve seen it at night. What I haven’t seen is the laundry room of the apartment complex a mile from the center of town — and that’s really what I’m interested in — the quiet, unknown moments that make up our lives.

I asked twenty-three people scattered around the U.S. to wear their cameras everywhere and over the next 48 hours I sent eleven text messages at random intervals asking everyone to take a photo of whatever was in front of them at that moment.

We worked together like bees — each doing our little bit, apart from the others, but producing something greater and, ultimately, understood by none of us individually.

This is what it looks like in the hive….
