french artist morgane tschiember explores illusions of material properties in here series ‘iron maiden’.
the series of installation pieces was first exhibited in 2007 at galerie loevenbruck in paris, where
tschiember lives and works. the installation consists of large scale sheets of lacquered aluminum
which are bent and arranged to give the illusion of a much lighter and pliable material. the sheets
are arranged on the floor and wall, seemingly bending at the will of gravity. the vivid colours and
glossy sheen amplify the surrealism of the pieces.

In the last years technology has advanced in giant steps”…this is not a new thing but today it seems to be a reality for everybody. Open source is now an open door that will come into all houses, exponentially speeding up creativity and development possibilities.

Next, a short introduction that will analyse the key moments in the last ten years of technology and creative development in the field of interaction and new media, and end with the performance and interview of one of the most interesting artistic collectives in the last few years: Multitouch Barcelona.

interaction is a kind of action that occurs as two or more objects have an effect upon one another. The idea of a two-way effect is essential in the concept of interaction. (Wikipedia)

…When we add to this simple principle, the passion for the code, creativity and the natural human aspects for fun-born Multitouch Barcelona. The collective born just one year ago was able to quickly enhance his international recognition thanks to his experimental, fresh and funny video installations.

Multitouch was founded by four young designers, based in (X), who work across interaction and New Media, and develop platforms linked to entertainment, play and experiment, by constantly exploring the communication between people and technology.

air balloon rally

Last week 329 hot air balloons set off into the skies for the largest gathering of its kind – the Loraine Mondial Air Balloon Rally, held in Chambley France. Seeing one balloon in flight is beautiful, but seeing this many is awe-inspiring. Luckily the flickr community caught it all. If you’re looking for a brief mental escape or some travel inspiration, check out their Loraine Mondial photo group. Click Read More for additional information and photos.

In the past few years, we’ve seen a lot of good Hip Hop coming from the city of New Orleans, Louisiana, from (pre-grass hoppin’)Lil’ Wayne to the styles of Jay Electronica.  And while there is still the skin of old milk looming over mainstream music like it should’ve been dumped last week, a new arrival has just hit the shelves… and with no gimmick, no B.S. about how it’s 30% better than what you bought last week, and no concern for mainstream approval.  Only good vibes, ‘lax beats, and a genuine concern for the mainstream state of mind.  I don’t know about you, but I think we need that more than a new face for endorsements(who happens to keep a good beat).

CURREN$Y is a long-time favorite here at Primary Clothing.  A lot of the creative work we have accomplished has been influenced by his public view on living/loving life, pursuing your goals for YOU, and not stopping until you’re ready.  Being true to yourself trumps any paycheck and truly, who wants to hear someone that’s just trying too hard?  Thank god for this sleepy southern spitter and his contribution to (fly)society.

Check out this interview with the young artist, outlining his views on the state of rap, capitalism, and Polo jackets just before the release of his recent album, “This Ain’t No Mixtape”.

Curren$y is set to release his new video for the track “16 Switches Spitta” in the coming weeks. Stay tuned!
